Fresh Berries:
I bought bags of fresh fruit at the farmer's market-- to include my favorite... strawberries. I did a quick prep (washing and slicing) and placed them in a tupperware dish within my fridge. These easy steps allow me to quickly throw them on my food scale for a deliciously sweet treat (which comes in very handy for treating those pesky lows).
Nail Polish:
I was inspired by Glamour magazine to try a pinky neutral blend-- the perfect combination for accentuating a tan. I used two coats of Sally Hansen Salon Manicure in Malt as my base and topped it with one coat of OPI Tijuana Dancer.
Ella and Winston:
Happy first birthday, Ella and Winston-- the most rambunctious little puppies I know! These two turn one on July 17th. It will be a celebration complete with Three Dog Bakery Treats and some special Fisher Price chew toys.
My IPhone:
I am incredibly grateful to have a smart phone that opens the door to an array of fitness, nutrition, and diabetes related apps. I have become dependent on myfitnesspal, a calorie/diet/exercise journal, to track my daily consumption. It breaks down my caloric and carbohydrate intake, while taking my fitness regime into consideration. As an added bonus, it is my accountability partner-- I never want to see my numbers light up in red, leaving no room for rationalizing if that cookie is really all that bad. Another app that I have grown fond of is Glucose Buddy. This app allows me to log my glucose levels in a journal-- including space for me to add notations on meals, exercises, and other varying factors. Both of these services have been extremely helpful to me in capturing data as I transfer to the pump. Best of all? They are FREE!
