These are a Few of My {Current} Favorite Things

Scentsy Bar in Spiced Grapefruit:

My apartment is aglow with this Scentsy candle warmer and filled with the citrusy aroma of grapefruit paired with nutmeg and allspice. I can't pinpoint why, but the scent is reminiscent of my childhood visits to the Christmas tree farm... and I love it. It has just the right amount of citrus to make it a summer scent, accompanied by a hint of spice as we transition into Fall (early? I can't get enough of my favorite time of year). 

Nail Polish:

I immediately fell in love with Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear Nail Lacquer in Mint Sorbet. It is a playful shade of seafoam green, yet it is appropriate enough to wear to work. Both men and women have complimented my nails this week... I've found a winner! And for a couple of bucks, it was a steal.

Laguna Beach:

This past weekend, my dad joined me for a day in Laguna Beach. We started our afternoon with a visit to the above restaurant -- aka my new favorite Italian eatery. The homemade pastas reminded me of my time spent in Italy. The meal was outstanding and both of us left feeling stuffed after attempting to savor every last morsel. We took advantage of the beautiful weather, walking a couple of miles down to my favorite beach to watch the paddleboarders and surfers in action. We concluded our visit with a cup of the "Best Coffee in Town" and my dad introduced me to the coconut macaroon. The perfect way to spend a Sunday.

Summer Salads:

The August heat has left me craving lighter meals. I have been enjoying fresh {calorie conscious} salads, paired with fruits for a summer twist. The above salad is a blend of mixed greens, cucumbers, tomatoes, sliced peaches, and candied pecans, drizzled with a light raspberry merlot dressing. Amazing.
